When minus means more

All our lives revolve around additions. Adding happiness, knowledge, love, money, power, fulfillment. Its all about additions, but wait only thing it is NOT. At least it is not the most effective way to have life you wanted.

More often avoiding mistakes turn out to be more beneficial, faster and effective way to achieve success than doing right things. Its called inversion. This way of doing opposite to what you want is called inversion. This has especially helped me keep my social circle full of positive energy. Instead of looking to develop relationships with positive, well wishing and caring people avoiding negative, ill thinking and selfish people is far easier. I have learned this the hard way. I think it is good in a way, because the learning has stuck strong with me thereafter.

Now more often I tend to think of what I would avoid, want to avoid or should avoid to achieve what I want. While 2020 is particularly trying for all of us, here are few things avoiding which has helped me more.

Before 2019, I don't think I have ever put down a book even if I didn't like it. I always considered if you pick a book you should read it completely. I have now learned to let go of a book if I don't enjoy, find irrelevant or untrue. It frees up my time to read good stuff, quality stuff or stuff that I enjoy.

Avoiding serious entertainment like shows/movies based on true stories, tragedies, family drama or any other social issue. This has automatically made my entertainment more lighter and enjoyable.

I find it is far easier to avoid junk food than to choose healthy food. If you keep planning for eating healthy all the times, your mind dreads the meal time beforehand.  Which usually makes you less excited to go with a chosen diet plan. Instead keeping focus on avoiding few things will make most of the food intake right.

At work, avoiding certain tasks, certain people more often results into improved productivity.

Do you find this helpful? I would like to hear from you on how do you optimize everything?
