sitcoms

It was back in year 2007 I saw the popular American sitcom 'Friends', fresh out of B-School, had to leave to Bangalore where my first corporate opportunity from campus was waiting. Friend of mine gave me this 3-4 seasons of this sitcom, she was madly in love with it and I couldn't understand why. Out of curiosity started watching it a day before my journey and I could not stop till I finish more than a half season. Thereafter i dint have this question of 'why' about any other sitcom or series for that matter. Friends have been my long running favourite comedy, I have watched every season at least 3 times. Every night after preparing dinner in Bangalore, I used to start random episode and enjoy my dinner. Then off course weekends were for movies. Now that I am in Mumbai and staying with family I have lost luxury of watching of such sitcoms or movie everyday, I have to wait for weekends for this. Over familiarity with friends has made me move to other series like HIMYM

New neighbour

Being a neighbour of a celebrity? Something I never thought will happen to me. (South Mumbai does not suit me ;)) But it has happened, and cherry on top is, he is one of my favorites. Sachin Tendulkar now has a house in my neighbourhood. Realty developers have got yet another reason to increase property rates in the area. For last 5-7 years rates are being pushed under name of new proposed International Airport. Surprisingly, billionaire cricketer has to take a loan to buy this property. And media openly shares that at least 30% of black money is involved in this deal. Check here As if political drama running in recent times is not enough.... *btw, Its the first b'day for my nephew Smit. Wish him loads of happiness and love in years to come.

Unmindful possessions

Time to let go off many things... My cleansing system gets activated like this multiple times :) I was always thinking that happy things, good things we share/experience will keep giving good feelings along the way. Surprisingly it turns out to be true for consistent context. You can not feel good about things if succeeding encounters turn out to be bad. In recent times I have seen people changing for bad, taking disgrace quite gracefully??, getting amused for obvious things, conveniently being negligent.... Really? Is it that difficult to be good? A great mind once said, keep clearing your baggage time to time, check on things that occupy your mind for good for bad. Maybe its time to leave those goods things also behind if those does not make any sense today. I always keep interesting or funny mail trails that I share with my friends. Sometime even I laugh at myself doing that. But many of those mails still bring smile on my face. There is a purpose to keep bad ones also, it reminds

True Colors

True colors...I think comes out in challenging situations. Two interesting assignments in last week amazed me. One was my corporate assignment to know our customers more and another was my cousins as a part of her Art curriculum. Obviously latter one was more interesting. I was asked to visit some of our customers to know how they feel about our products and service. Most of them gave positive feedback about it. Though everyone mentioned about the difference in a way the advertisements are perceived (surprisingly it included our sales team as well!!!!) I understand the markets are changed now, they have become more challenging, competitive. Customers have become smart, choosy. But in the run of winning the customers through media I think sometimes we lose simplicity. My cousin was giving her exams wherein she was asked to paint different objects under categories like Nature, Human, Industry etc. For a natures assignment they were asked to paint a 'Coconut' and a 'Chili

Living an American Dream

Ohh yeah!! Last one month I am literally living an american dream. And grand vacation still continues... :) I dont remember a day when I have not shopped, have not gone out. And all these days I am eating all types of cuisine. And cherry on top is its not my wallet from where $ are coming out :) What else makes vacation more divine? But on a serious note, the term living/chasing an American dream actually lives upto the definition I made. At any point of time shopping malls are flooded with people, at every other corner of the road you'll see a food outlet. People just love being out spending. Not for no reason everyone out there dreams to chase this 'dream'... Continue dreaming folks!! Good night. AMERICAN Dreams.

Food Freak

My grand vacation still continues... There were many things which I decided to do when I land here, one of which was to cook and feed my husband full. Almost half of Ghee(Butter) bottle is emptied in this attempt ;) Nevertheless he got his chance to take revenge on this by taking me places to eat this week-end. Visited New York and New Jersey and had lots of 'American food' on the way. Many of them actually I was craving to have for a long time. So be it Italian, Mexican, Japanese I had it all. Pancakes and cheese cake were awesomest of all, its Yumm. I thought salt is one of the basic ingredient in all recipes, to be more corrective in American context I would like to add Butter and Cheese. Oh believe me they have these two things in ALL dishes, plenty of it. There is utter need to start of my swimming sessions once I reach back home, by that time I should start telling my waist size in American style 4..6.. By the way March 1 is celebrated here as Pancakes Day, ihop has invit

U S of A

Traveling towards capital of uncle SAMs country, 18 miles to go. Awesome scenic roads, 5 lanes expressway and not a single person cutting lanes, Driving rash. Back home we also have huge 6 lane expressway but driving on those roads is fairly competitive. Was surprised to see extreme two lanes not being used, when asked came to know left one is for emergency takes offs and extreme right is for emergency halts. Even when no traffic controllers are around people follow all rules even if they have to go through heavy traffic. Amazing. Hubby says standard practice while driving on highways here is to keep 6 seconds distance from vehicle next to you, newly arrived Indian driver in me is scared of having 10 other vehicles in between :) PS: climate today was told to be windy, does these people don't have STORMY word in their dictionary? I will not be surprised if I fly today. Literally.

Runaway Bride

Had it been written just before this dude got married, you were free to take the literal meaning of 'run away' Yes, news of the year is that I got married. To the perfect man at the perfect time, and in the perfect wedding dress ;) I thought 'going cold feet before the wedding' is something to be used as a good metaphor, none the less experiencing it made me realize how chilly it can actually get. Though all that chilliness melted the moment I saw his smiling, sparkling eyes. Cant even imagine the preparation, planning etc, which was going on for a month was only for a single day's function. But it was all worth, when I saw everyone enjoying being part of it. By the way, Happy New year to you all. Year beginning for me has brought many smiling moments. Wish everyone too have many joyful moments in times to come!! PS: Should 'dude' still be there in first person talk?
