The one after Kim's post

Recently read a blog on 'Best Friends Wedding' Expressive, true and touching. Very Nice. After writing a blog on my friends wedding last year, somewhere I thought maybe I will write it for everyone in my group. Somehow it did not 'clicked'. This is the second idea apart from sending common mails on B'day , which has ahead of its time and failed to lure its audience. Not to worry, for sure new ideas will keep coming from this vegabond mind.

Foreign Returned

Have heard lot about them but always wanted to meet this species. Specially those who visited uncle Sam's country. Visual appearance is similar to that of other software professionals but you will find random changes in behaviour. Suddenly all reference points come all the way from America. 'Clubs', Alcohol, Turky, cheese etc are hot topics of discussion. Hygiene becomes so important that they eat panipuri in swanky shopping mall. Too much.Appreciating their life, things, 'culture' can be totally understood but you dont have to badmouth of things which are here. That's a lame. Happen to meet someone in recent times. He was telling, Indian cars does not seems to be safe now. He wanted an air-bag in it. Huhhh?? 26 years of his life the person has spent in Mumbai, travelling in Local train and bus. Fact apart that today in Mumbai, person who is relaxing in the back-seat of the lavish car feels as unsafe as person who is hanging out of the bus/train. By the way not

Traditional Day

Shining, sparkling diwali time is here which gives one another reason for people to celebrate beside positive global 'cues' ;) Everyone else is celebrating so why not my colleagues? They have decided to celebrate 'Traditional Day' in office today. This has forced an un-traditional day on me...Wearing a sari in office? Not a that big deal of wearing it in office. Big deal to carry it from all the way home till office(Involves crossing at Kurla) Ahhh that was quite adventurous. Did it anyway :) Hats off to all those brave ones who do this daily in city like Mumbai. Today reminds me of two historic days when I wore sari, one long time back placement time in my B-school and recent one was my brothers wedding. Dude, you need to catch up... Happy Diwali to you!! All pretty ladies and handsome gentlemen. Have a healthy, wealthy and peaceful time ahead. Hon, may all your wishes come true. Love all,

Discovering self

Has anyone seen Wimbledon Men's singles final this time, it was fantastic. Fantastic fight for the grand slam between Federer and Roddick. Roddick made a mockery of all those who were saying Roger Federer was clear easy winner. So what Roddick dint win this match he made Federer fight for this title for five sets in longest final by games. It was 2004 when I first saw Roddick's game, he was very strong on his serves that time. Since then I am his fan. I missed his play last year but this Wimbledon was good to watch. I liked the comment which he made after the heartbreak loss, 'There are two options for me now just lay down or just keep going, later seems to be better'. After seeing his improved game people think Roddick is finally getting set in his game, but I think he has just started discovering his play... Its mid of July and still I can't say that monsoon has started here. Such a delay! Though last 3-4 days it rained for a while...and what I see? Roads in Mumba

Happy B'Day Pra!

Pra, Happy B'Day dear!! You still look amazingly fabulous and stunning. Hope to say this line on all your birthdays. Wish you many youthful years ahead. Why god? Why are you doing this to my friends? :) - Joey Style PS: Was always brilliant at 'History' in school, however its repetitively failing me these days.

You know it better

I should have remembered this :( When its about you, who would know better than you? *Moms are anyway an exception for this, they know everything. Janata(People) will anyway have an opinion about you someway or the other. It does not matter what color it is, some say its good, some will also say its disastrous choice. In the end only thing mattes is what do 'you' feel about it. Dude, your choice matters, do remember this. ALWAYS.

You too?

There are 365 days in a year. You have Sundays off, Public holidays/National holidays are yours. The place you work will have some policy so that you get around 30-40 leaves in your kitty. And still you look forward for a 'Voting day' as an opportunity to take a rest at home? come on....The day comes once in 5 Years. 38-40% of Indian population anyway wont be able to cast their vote/opinion(below 18), So 60%are left to give a shape to nations leadership. Of this not even 50% place their vote. Consider 5% of people(of 30%) who vote are from political parties/relatives/alliances etc. At least they are doing it for their survival. So actually around 20-25% of people in India decides for 100% of the population. And after all this we expect change in our country. How can you expect a change without actually being a part of it? When asked, some people actually gave reasons for not casting a vote..Polling Booth was not closer by, Not interested, Why, not worth, long wait. Ahhh.....

City that 'never' sleeps

Does title indicative enough that I am talking about Mumbai? City which is known for not sleeping at all. Just wondering when, how, what, who made this statement? Because today was second time I saw this city sleeping. If Mumbai is CST Railway station, or a major market place like Dadar then what is being said is true. Two months back I went to Mumbai International Airport to receive my friend who had connecting flight to Bangalore at around 3 AM. After his flight took off I was actually thinking of travelling back home, but deserted roads at Santacruz made me wait till 5 AM. Even at 5 AM roads were empty, at around 5:30 day was seemed to be on a roll. and today it took only 45-50 mins for me to drive till office from home, which in a daytime nothing less than 2.5-3 hours. How is it possible if this city is not sleeping? My journeys till date have happened most of the times in the night and I can tell for sure that any place which can be vaguely defined as town is up by 5:30 or 6 in th

Gym-Me on the move

Oh Yes!! I have started 'hitting' a gym :) Two years of a dream to join a gym has finally become a reality. Not that I am a fitness freak, but marks left on my tissues of all eat-outs that I have done past two years needs to be cleaned up. Also another reason to join gym was I always wanted to see all those work-out instruments and use it.... just for fun. and believe me its really a fun. Its been four months I have come to this city and it took me so long to decide to go for gymming because I start my day at 6:30 AM and it ends at 10-10:30PM. Where possibly could I fit my gym schedule? My day here was short, now its shorter with the addition of one more activity. Its 5 AM when I wake up these days. Hope to continue this for some time. If not work-out, at least fancy gym-wear of Adidas will keep me going :) I guess I am happier when I am 'putting on' this gym-wear than when I am 'putting off' those extra calories. Take care all! Be fit and Be healthy!

Honey, its not only money

'Mere desh me paisa sirf paisa nahi hai....' Translated as 'In my country money is not only money' moreover to imply in my country money not only gives monetary value but lot more than that. These are the lines from the commercial flashing on TV few days for now for one of the Indian Banks. This advertisement shows emotional, cultural colors and values attached to money. Would prefer not to comment on the bank however their promotion on TV is well featured. I liked it. Ad features many thing like a brother-sister play at the time of rakshabandhan, an old man performing some art with coins, many hands exchanging money at different places. But the one thing I liked most was a small kid not even a year old looks at a coin in hand and suddenly his eyes brighten up, good click. By the way , Happy New Year all!!
