Beyond Horizons...

She never ceases to amaze me, even now. I agree as a kid, you are always in awe of your parents. Sometime during your tween time though, you start to think whatever they know is outdated and flash 10-15 years later you realize you still have to know all the stuff that they know. Look here my Mom, as fresh and as confident as she can be after 24 hour long journey half way across the world without the knowledge of language spoken in this country. Look how comfortable she looks,as if she has just completed 1-2 hours of journey in my hometown. I was sleepless about her travelling alone. When I asked "Weren't you scared?" She said, "Not at all, I was travelling first time international, I didn't know what to be scared of, I was rather thrilled" Huh...perils of knowing immigration, customs and huge airports. We overqualified mortals 😅

Its never too late to learn how to make paper planes and boats. I strongly believe this is an essential skill to be an adult. Well apart from frog jumping, be able to do thumb cutting magic trick, making sand castles, singing and dancing among others. Ok, I will take down dancing. And this has nothing to do with what adult age we are talking of, or whether or not you have kids.  Geared with all these up my sleeves, I have survived in fact been great with my lil'l one till now.  So life is sorted, you are the magician and audience is ever cheered up. And then one day out of nowhere someone makes paper swan and gives it to my daughter (How dare they?)  No, I am not adding that as an essential skill, but my hubby has taken keen interest in paper swan and so has my star.  So, roughly 12 days after, taking to the task of making paper swans, I have found about 27 swans in different sizes, shapes and colors around the house. Its been good five years that I have been a Mom. Yes, My star has completed five years on November 30th. Not a day goes by where I don't know whether to laugh or cry about a moment or I have not learned anything new. Today was no exception. So in the device/technology dominated world, I am continuously trying to shield my lil'l one as much as possible from early exposure of screens and handling of these devices. This is an attempt to delay the inevitable, because I am sure knowing & understanding technology is not optional for the kid in future. So kid will do all it takes to learn and master it..And I din't have to wait long for the proof... Lil'l one continuously keeps surprising me with her skills of observation. At age of three where never once she was given phone in her hand before when she lay her hands on one she exactly knew what was to be done with the device. And believe it, she handled both Android and iPhone very well for this experiment :) Today ...

Ever wondered where does that freedom of expressing self vanish or rather diminish when you grow up? I am always in the awe of #MyStar and her expressions of life, things and of self. Closer look tells you, it is that inward lens that corrupts your free mind and hold you back from being you.  I wish and hope, this click will always remind me to have open outlook, to be myself and being sane and insane at the same time.
