Chennai Trip
It has been almost two weeks I wanted to write about my Chennai Trip. Not that it was great or something but just wanted to write.
It was actually a Business trip, so as usual was communicated to me on 11th hour. Unwillingly I agreed to go by bus (Bangalore-Chennai). If it is long journey and if it is a bus in my case it will always be 'unwillingly'.
Journey started at 11 PM from Bangalore, reached Chennai around 5:30, as expected all Auto people jumped seeing prospect customer. not meeting their expectations I walked for a while and stopped one auto and told him the address. Not told actually mumbled because I couldn't pronounce the word even after practicing it at least 20 times. It was 'Nungumbakkam'.
Many people told me that in Chennai, language' will be a barrier...true. I had a tough time communicating guest-house care taker/Auto drivers. My meeting was scheduled at 11 AM, When I was about to leave care taker came and started talking, he talked almost for 15 minutes to make me understand that 'If I wanted to have breakfast' ahhhhh
By the time I finished my meeting it was 3 PM, and I had quiet a free time before my return journey. So decided to board local train to reach guest house. Gutsy decision...specially when you don't even know which direction you need to go. Journey was quiet adventurous starting from the search of right platform to right train and then right station. Complete 45 minutes of journey ended successfully at guest house. Two interesting things I came across were 'Fort' railway station and a place called 'Paris'. I was wondering how people will be telling autowalas to take them to Paris :)
In the evening at around 9 went to see Chennai beach. Its been almost a year I had been to any beach. My last times visit of a beach was not quiet good....anyway an experience. But this time it was beautiful...Silver moonlight, Open sky, Airplanes passing by every 15 minutes, Cooling breeze, and chocobar in hand....Simply awesome. However clock was ticking and I had to start for my return journey...
